Does anyone know what has happened to Wootton? They have never been a top team, but they always managed to put up points and win a few games. They are getting blown out each week.

They graduated Miller who was arguably the best player in the county that any other team would have done back flips to get. It is going to take time for them to get back to being competitive

The JV team has a combined 2 wins in the last 4 years. The last stat sheet I saw, looked like they had all freshman and sophomores (1 senior) playing. I also know a good amount of players have been suspended. But ask someone within the program

Should’ve never fired Spinner over football Jerseys \(-_-)/ Agreed...they need another uniform scandal to drum up some excitement for the program. I think their lacrosse team has also gone in the crapper.

Im on the JV team. We had a bunch of suspensions and expulsions because of a big fight against churchill guys outside of school with people on both JV and Varsity involved. Varsity also had a lot of injuries and so they bumped up a lot of the JV team, all who are smaller and haven't played in a varsity game before. The JV is solid, we dont get blown out - but Varsity just has bad luck most games with turnovers and injuries. Plus a lot of the team is inexperienced.

Caught them a few weeks ago. Varsity team just looked overpowered. Not a lot of power or speed. JV team, which I presume is just freshmen, had a decent running game. I was surprised by some of their DL play. Big kids who moved. QB also looked good. Nice arm and good speed. Just not many kids on the team.

Yeah, our JV team started out like 35 people 70% freshmen 30% sophomores, now there are 3 sophomores left. The JV QB is now the starting varsity QB, and he's a freshmen - very good tho - the other two starters got injured. JV DLine is tuff, we get 5-10 sacks a game and keep the run game on the low. It really just fundamentals that hold them back, making good tackles, staying onside, stuff like that.

It is weird to see a program with such strong QBs struggle. I guess one D1 player can make a tremendous difference. Just surprised to see such a large drop in offensive output. I enjoyed watching them in the past because they were one of the few teams to air it out. I guess there were no kids to fill Miller’s shoes.

They definitely lost miller who the offense definitely went through. They lost a lot of others to though. Aaron Strauss was a huge part of what they did too. Also, Matthew amobi was there first 1000 yard rusher in 25 years. Also Alec Yassin was huge on their defense and just played hard. Nick Baldwin was also there leading tackler on defense and was a good full back and te blocker for them. They lost two olineman as well.

My point is they are having a hard time replacing more than just the irreplaceable Miller. Also, excuse my typo they lost 3 starting olineman.

They have a great position coach in J’den Seales that goes very unnoticed. Man deserves a head coaching job somewhere.
