I don’t thing EVERY squad was missing impact players, I’ll guess you were probably using hyperbole though. So can we say who was missing? I know that RM was missing their starting point guard Lewis, but also lost Cornish before their MDElite playoffs. I don’t think Jao played very many games at all for GBurg. Was Clarksburg missing anyone in their loss to Sherwood? So I went to the County Rec semis. Spoke to some of the Whitman folks who were sitting near me. Said they were missing 3 key players - one starting forward and their top 2 reserves. That's just one example. Sherwood was without Long who is injured. That's just one game and a playoff game at that. Close game so who knows how those players impacted things either way. I suspect if you looked at every roster there wasn't a team that had their full complement of players every night. Plus I think you are undervaluing the improvement that can occur between the Summer and December. That is an unknown for every team. thank you! Summer league is no indicator of who will b good and who will not. Using this for predictions is just foolish. If you wanna make predictions based on transfers and returning impact players by all means do so. but summer league, no.

Last year RM won the summer league with most MoCo Teams in it. Gaithersburg was the top seed. RM was the best team in the county. Gaithersburg was the second best. Despite this I’m not saying summer league gives a forgone conclusion but it definitely is relevant in making any predictions. Clarksburg was the top seed this year, Sherwood won it. Who thinks these two teams will fall flat on their faces? If you think that these two team will be tops in their division and/or section then summer league does mean something.

Springbrook 3peated and was never great during summer basketball. Not sure you can go by that. Kids miss for lots of different reason and lot coaches don’t even coach their teams. Some teams use summer bball to develop young players or play different combinations of players. Get players familiar with the system or even try new system. Hard to take it serious Last year Walter Johnson was game away from states not many saw that. Most thought Paint Branch would’ve been better last year. Hard to read over results summer bball

When Springbrook 3 peated they were playing in the Rock summer league against WCAC teams and the like. They were still competitive. They very likely would have won the MoCo rec back then which was won by weaker teams like QO.
I mentioned WJ in an earlier post as a good exception. However, Parrish wasn’t even hired yet. They didn’t even have a coach. Literally a different father was coaching every game.
Paint Branch is a decent example but they were still good last year with one of the best records in the county. They got to their sectional final and dropped an EGG against Springbrook. That seriously was shocking after closer games earlier in the year.
Again, I’m saying the teams that did well in summer league will be the top teams in the county this year.
-Sherwood, Clarksburg will be on top -NW and Magruder will be good -RM lost leading scorer so won’t be as good as summer but still good -Gburg didn’t play with best player so will be better than summer performance
