* is for a team or player who accomplished something yet there is a footnote. It's not used for something that wasn't accomplished (especially when said game wasn't over and when there was a whole additional game to be played before making it to the championship game).
We know you can't let it go, and you will certainly always and forever have an * for 2017 Damascus, but it's use in this thread is ridiculous IMO.
